    Contemporary Table Lamps

So you've decided to give your room a little bit of a makeover? Wondering what's hot and what's not this season? So many choices! And with all the home makeover shows your mind is probably going a million miles an hour with ideas. Well don't forget to include contemporary table lamps in what ever project you do.

Now I know what you're thinking - but my rooms not contemporary. Doesn't matter. That's the beauty of contemporary table lamp . They are affordable with plenty of colors and styles to choose from and they work well with almost any décor.

Whether your room is southwestern, country, formal, European, modernistic, contemporary, art deco, funky, or just plain lived in the right contemporary lamps can complete your décor nicely!

Contemporary actually covers a wide range of lamp styles including glass, crystal, pewter, brass, ceramic, wood, and the list goes on and on. Contemporary styles will be current and have lines that are complimentary to the era. So what's the best way to use these table lamp ? Glad you asked.

    1. Bedroom In the bedroom contemporary lamps that add a touch of femininity and romance are perfect. Our bedroom is a place to relax, get some sleep, and perhaps even a little romantic time with our partner. Creating an atmosphere that's relaxing is important. Choose soft lighting, no more than 40 watt bulbs. Choose lamps that are somewhere between 12" and 20" and not overwhelming. Crystal works nice, as does a lamp with a Tiffany style shade. You might also consider a fabric shade that ties with your bedroom colors.

    2. Living Room The living room is an open book when it comes to lamps. How big your living room is will depend on how many lamps and the size of the lamps you choose. Big and bold always makes a great statement but if your living room is on the smaller size you don't want to crowd the room with lamps. Two lamps is always a nice balance but the lamps do not have to match. You might even try opposites for the heck of it. Makes a nice contrast.

Your shades are as important as your lamp style. Choose shades that either compliment your décor or create an accent and focal point. Pewter lamps are very popular this season and if you have a look at some of the designs you'll see why.

    3. Dining Room Often a single lamp is ample for a dining room unless you have a relatively large one. You can use an contemporary lamp in a corner on a small corner table to add ambiance to a room. You can also place it in a somewhat higher location that strategically throws an accent lighting.

If you have a chandelier in the room you might consider a complimenting lamp. If you have a crystal chandelier consider purchase a couple of the miniature crystal table lamps to place in two opposite corners of the room or on a sideboard. They look great!

    4. Family Room A family room is a great place to have some fun with your lamps. You can choose big, bold, funky lamps if you like and you can go crazy with the shades. If your family room is themed why not consider carrying the theme into your lamps. Generally 2 large lamps are adequate but of course that depends on the size of the room. You might also compliment with some floor lamps.

Contemporary table lamps are the perfect addition to almost any room. With so many great choices available online you'll have no trouble finding the perfect lamps for your décor!
