There's something about crystal that's hard to top. Whether it's that beautiful crystal vase, those Waterford crystal glasses, or the crystal lamp that sits in the living room looking so elegant and classy, crystal really is hard to beat for a room accessory! Here are some designer tips on how to make that crystal table lamp look great in every room.

Your crystal table lamps need to be placed so that they are functional and noticeable. On coffee tables at the end of the sofa or beside a chair works well. Small accent lamps look great on a mantle piece for accent lighting, and a floor lamp works well placed beside a reading chair.

When decorating the dining room we generally focus on the fixture above the table but if your dining room is larger lamps can make great accents. There's no question that a crystal chandelier will be dynamite especially with a dimmer so that it can very functional from a romantic dinner to task lighting for the kid's homework. You can either use your table lamp as a reading light or you can invest in a center reading light. The kitchen is usually the primary work area in a home. It's also where friends and family gather, where games are played, and where meals are eaten and prepared. It's usually the most relaxed and functional room in the house. So of course you'll need good lighting which can be provided by a ceiling light fixture, fluorescent lighting, recessed lighting, halogen lighting, and lamps. Recessed lighting works well under the sink providing sufficient task lighting. A decorative pendant looks great over an island or dinette, and track lighting works well for accenting and ambiance. Lamps look great on a corner table nook.

Your lighting over the vanity and sink needs to functional but a couple of small crystal candle lamps will look elegant adding the finishing touches to the décor. A small crystal lamp near the tub can make a nice relaxing ambiance and provide adequate lighting for reading while soaking.
