3. Incandescent is the oldest type of bulb where a
filament is responsible for giving off the light which
is a yellowish color with good color rendition. It's
an inexpensive form of lighting but cheaper bulbs and
lamps will burn up bulbs quite quickly.
4. LED is a diode that gives off light. There are many
different colors available and they use very little
energy and are very inexpensive to operate. They also
don't get hot and they can last for years. They are
quickly becoming standard in our automobiles but they
still aren't readily available in home fixtures. That
should change over the next few years.
5. Candle is the oldest form of lighting around for
centuries. Perhaps not considered the best choice by
today's standards but certainly functional. It does
however pose a fire hazard. There are few people that
don't enjoy candlelight although it's not the best choice
for reading or working.
