Fire Up The Grill & Set The Mood With An Outdoor Chandelier

The weather has warmed, the stars are out, the grill is fired up, and entertainment has moved outdoors. This is the season to turn your outdoor space into an extension of your home and it's the perfect place to entertain your friends and family. So why not fire up the grill and se the mood with your outdoor chandelier?

Life is busy and too often we get far too caught up in our day to day activities. It's important to take time out to enjoy good friends and family and what's better than doing that over some good food?

Your outdoor patio is the perfect place to entertain! Your guests should be comfortable and one of the best ways to set the mood is with your lighting. Besides providing adequate lighting so that guests can easily move around your fixtures do a great job of setting the overall mood.

An outdoor chandelier is one of the best choices you can make. But wait! I know what you're thinking. Classic traditional chandelier, perhaps crystal or glass. Not so. Outside opens up a whole new avenue for creativity and fun. Look for the perfect chandelier at flea markets, antique stores, or online. Ones that hold candles are great because you can replace standard candles with citronella to help keep the bugs away.

Worn finished can add a rustic, relaxing atmosphere, and don't be afraid to give the chandelier a facelift. Change shades, add drops, and be creative. Do you remember those fabulous small orange paper lanterns? They work great as shades providing the bulb wattage is low enough. One of many creative ideas you could try.

Don't skimp on your lighting. Place hurricane lamps around the premises. Mosaic glass lamps are gorgeous and add a nice soft glow that helps with the atmosphere. They candles are also protected from the wind. Votives also work well. Tiki torches also are a great choice and are excellent for defining the perimeter. They can also be filled with citronella.

Avoid electric lanterns if possible as they just don't set the mood with the same impact. If you need to use electric chandeliers and lights then choose low wattage bulbs.

Now for the right grill. BBQ's come in all different sizes so whether you generally cook for a small group or a large group there is a grill that will easily meet your needs. In fact grills have become so sophisticated it's more like having a second kitchen in the back yard. Once you choose the perfect grill all that's left is to decide who's going to be the chef.

The location and size of your outside entertaining area will depend a great deal on where you live. If you find yourself in a quaint apartment in New York perhaps you'll be entertaining on the roof top, large house in the suburbs perhaps you'll have a large brick patio and fire pit. The location isn't nearly as important as ensuring your décor accentuates the location and compliments the atmosphere.

Life is about fun, friends, and family. Good food, good friends, and good conversation are a great way to enjoy the evening especially under the light from that great outdoor chandelier!
